Woody and Little Miss Sunshine VS. the Zombies

June 12th 2009-

Zombies, zombies and more zombies. When exactly did the big EVENT happen that rendered our world overrun by the flesh eaters? I’m not sure I can even pinpoint the exact moment anymore.  I think it was 28 Days Later right, that brought the brain-munchers back? And then Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead and every third movie after that. We’ve had aussie zombies (Undead), french non-violent existential zombies (They Came Back), and scottish Billy Connelly as a dead pet (Fido).  And, one guesses, we won’t be rid of them soon. And as long as we keep getting little gems like the recent Dance of the Dead I’m game.

Now, this fall we have Zombieland to look forward to. You can find the details over at IMDB, but the basic plot synopsis involves Adventureland’s Jessie Eisenberg and Crazyland’s(it’s not a movie just the place he hails from) Woody Harrelson as two guys surviving in the world after a zombiepocalypse, who meet up with Abigail Breslin and Emma Stone. The basic gist looks like they form a make-shift family in the wake of the disaster and start figuring out what comes next. The cast looks like it has an assortment of faces including Bill Murray as a zombie. You just sold me a ticket with that last one.

Anyway, here are some stills from the Zombieland, courtesy of AICN who got the exclusive scoop on them over HERE. It hits theaters October 9th.

Something tells me I’ll be one of those zombies, shambling forward slowly through the crowd, waving my money at the ticket booth, mumbling, ‘brains…’.
